Boots 17 range is currently being relaunched, I believe, to be Seventeen and the first new product under the new branding is the Doll’d Up Mascara and Liner but I’m not sure if the liner is a new product which will be sold because it is currently a free gift, I didn’t see it available to buy individually.
The thing that caught my eye was the packaging. I really love the design, I think the black and red with the bow is cute and different compared to all the other mascara tubes on the stand and the shape of the tube is quite reminscent of the Lancome mascaras.
Inside the the packaging, there is a really good mascara and wand. The mascara is a proper, true black. The wand is curved and has short, plastic bristles which grab lashes really well. The mascara claims to lift and curl lashes for twenty-four hours but it isn’t waterproof and doesn’t claim to be smudgeproof. I can’t say whether it lasts for twenty-four hours because I don’t wear mascara for that length of time but it did last eight hours without smudging or flaking. It doesn’t neccesarily curl my lashes but it helps to hold in the curl from using eyelash curlers but when used on its own, it does have a lifting effect. I think it’s a really good mascara for an easy everyday look because its not clumpy and lasts well but you can layer it up to be more lashy but then it gets a little clumpy, great for the doll eye effect.
The eyeliner is a free gift but I really hope it is available on its own because it’s a really good eyeliner, it has the three dot design like the Clarins and Bourjois one and its a nice black colour. You can use it just to dot along the lash line to make lashes look thicker but you can do a cat-eye flick with it too.
Overall, both of the products are really good and I really recommend both of them. It came out yesterday (Jan 23rd) in Boots and is currently £5.29 for the mascara (the liner is a free gift) but it will be £6.29 (I think the offer runs until Feb 20th).
