Nails Inc. Nailkale Revisited

nails inc nailkale superfood base coat alexa chung 2014 autumn

A few months ago I posted about the exciting new products from Nails Inc. using the superfood kale to nourish and hydrate nails. I’m always a bit sceptical when it comes to claims by brands but I trust Nails Inc. and I’m obsessed by nails so I decided to conduct a little experiment of my own with the Nailkale Base Coat.

I’ve used the basecoat every time I painted my nails since I received it back in September. I made a point of using no other base coat or treatment product on my nails to see if it really did have an effect. Since I’ve been using the base coat I have noticed my nails have been stronger and I’ve particularly noticed my nails no longer flake. I didn’t have a huge issue with flaking but occasionally I would go through a period of my nail flaking, probably because I paint my nails so often but I haven’t had flaking since September. Also I’ve noticed my nails are more flexible, if I catch one of my nails, it doesn’t just snap, it bends and resists breaking. Finally, I’m sure my nails are growing faster than usual. There are no claims that this product will increase nail growth but I think my nails are growing quicker because the product is hydrating.

Overall, I’m hugely impressed with this base coat and I really recommend it.

PR Sample but this is my honest opinion of the product, I wouldn’t say I like something unless I really did.

Have you tried it? What do you think? Would you try it?

The Best Christmas Nail Polishes*

nails inc christmas nail polishes

Every year nail brands launch some Christmassy themed nail polishes and without a doubt the best come from Nails Inc. They’ve launched two snowflake nail polishes and I’m in love with the. I can’t stop looking at them in the bottles or on my nails.

nails inc kensington church street

First is Kensington Church Street which is a clear base with white circles and silver glitter to look like snowflake.  It look amazing over red nail polish, I think it would be perfect for Christmas day. I’ve also tried it over Nails Inc. Porchester Square which is the perfect nude shade and it looks amazing, really understated and chic. I’ll have posts coming up on both looks.

nails inc whitechapel

Next is Whitechapel which is a gorgeous mix of white circles and gold glitter. This is so festive, I love it! I think this looks amazing over a darker shade, I’ve tried it with Tate from Nails Inc. which is a deep red/berry shade and it looks stunning, really classic.

I love both of these polishes, I think they’re perfect for you’re festive manicure or a stock filler for someone, I can’t imagine anyone would be disappointed to receive these on Christmas morning.

Ciate Candy Cane House

ciate candy cane house

Ciate is really knocking it out of the park this year with their “house” collection. I have two, The Dollhouse and I used it all spring and summer and I have the Haute House and I think it’s all I’ll be using all autumn and winter. Now, they’ve launched an amazing kit for Christmas, the Candy Cane House.

The Candy Cane House is a collection of four seasonal inspired polishes, they’re glitters that have a Christmassy scent and name.

Candy Cane Open

The white glitter is Snow Fall, the green and red glitter is Candy Craze, the gold is Tangled Tinsel and the multi-coloured glitter is Ginger Snap. I love the names and I think this set would be perfect for party season because it’s all the polishes you need.

It’s priced at £25 (link).

MUA Peel Off Base Coat

MUA Peel Off Base Coat

Whoever thought of a peelable base coat for nails, you are a genius and I salute you! I love me some glitter nail polishes but they’re a real pain to remove and now we’re getting closer to the festive season and its time to dig out the glitters again.

MUA has recently launched a peelable base coat and it does exactly what it says. I used this the other night with glitter polish and I managed to peel it off the next morning without any hassle. This isn’t the base coat you buy to use generally because polish will not last past a day at the most but its perfect for glitter.

I have a top tip for using this base coat, paint it on, let it set and then start painting the polish straight away as it will start to peel after a while when its on its own.

Have you tried it? Will you be buying it for the seasonal period?

The Body Shop Colour Crush in Got The Blues

The Body Shop Colour Crush Got The Blues Nail Polish

Blue polish is pretty much my favourite nail polish shade, I wear it most of the time and I’m always looking to add to new shades to my collection. The Body Shop recently launched their Colour Crush collection of nail polishes. Like all of the Body Shop’s range, the polishes are designed without the nasties and they’re suitable for vegans. I bought a couple of shades my absolute favourite is Got The Blues.

Got The Blues is a beautiful cornflower blue shade. The formula is fab, the above picture is taken with only one coat and without a top coat. You can see how glossy the finish is and the opacity. Also, the brush is reasonably wide so it paints on in one stroke which is great for saving time.

The polishes are priced at £5 and there is a huge shade range. I’m really impressed by the polishes and I really recommend them.

What do you think? Have you tried The Body Shop’s new nail polishes?

Today’s post I think shows my new favourite nail polish. I love this shade and I think I’ll be wearing this all autumn. Gloucester Walk is a beautiful crème purple. Purple and blues are my absolute favourite polishes colours and I absolutely love this one and I can’t see my self wearing another shade for the foreseeable future. I love it!

Nails Inc. Nailkale Regents Park*

If you read my blog regularly you’ll know I’m a massive fan of Nails Inc. I was really lucky to receive a couple of Nailkale products a few weeks, ago you can see a full post here. I was  incredibly lucky to be sent a couple of the actual colours to try and I can safely say I’m in love with the shades, the range and the formula.

nails inc nailkale regents park

Regents Park* is a gorgeous bright, vibrant hot pink. It reminds of Shoreditch but it’s slightly brighter. I love it and I think it will become my go to pedicure colour. The formula of the Nailkale polishes are amazing. This picture is only one coat and it’s not a super thick layer, the colours are so opaque I don’t need to use two coats. Also they dry incredibly quickly, I would say they dry quicker than normal nail polishes.

I have wrote quite a bit about the goodness of Kale in the nail polishes and you can read about it here and here.

I cannot recommend this polish enough, I love the colour, I love formula, I just love the brand in general!

You can buy it here.
