I use an eye everyday and every night but I’m a little wary of the claims some eye creams make. I don’t believe an eye cream will be life changing but I know I need an eye cream to keep under my eyes moisturised and hydrated. Also I use an eye cream everyday to help my under eye concealer apply better and look fresher for longer.
I was very lucky to be sent the RMK Eye Balm to try and I was really pleased to receive it because it’s a product I probably would never have got round to trying. Generally, eye creams only work with long term use but in the short term, I’ve been loving it as a base for my under eye concealer. I sometimes find that my concealer looks dry and cakey almost immediately after applying it but I’ve noticed when I’ve used this my concealer looks fresher for longer.
I’m always a bit sceptical when it comes to blemish treatments. I’ve never really found one that actually works, most of them just dry out my skin and that in turn gets rid of the blemish. However, I can honestly say the Clinique Clearing Gel genuinely helps when those pesky blemishes show up.
I originally tried this when I bought some Clinique product and the girl at the counter gave me a tester to try, but at the time I didn’t need it so I put it in my sample box. However, a couple of weeks ago I had the most annoying breakout and I decided to try it and it honestly worked it’s magic overnight. I so impressed by that I had to head to my local Boots the next day to buy a full size.
The packaging is really compact and it has a small hole at the top that dispenses the product so it’s really hygienic and easy to keep free from bacteria.
Have you tried it? What do you think?
Whoever thought of a peelable base coat for nails, you are a genius and I salute you! I love me some glitter nail polishes but they’re a real pain to remove and now we’re getting closer to the festive season and its time to dig out the glitters again.
MUA has recently launched a peelable base coat and it does exactly what it says. I used this the other night with glitter polish and I managed to peel it off the next morning without any hassle. This isn’t the base coat you buy to use generally because polish will not last past a day at the most but its perfect for glitter.
I have a top tip for using this base coat, paint it on, let it set and then start painting the polish straight away as it will start to peel after a while when its on its own.
Have you tried it? Will you be buying it for the seasonal period?

A brow gel is a brow gel but it can be difficult to get a good because some of them don’t hold brows in place and others are great shaping brows but leave this weird white residue when they dry. I’ve been trying this one from RMK for the past few days and I’ve discovered it holds my brows all day and, importantly, it stays clear all day. I’ve never tried anything RMK before because I don’t live near a stockists and I’m always wary of trying brands I haven’t seen in real life but I’ve been really impressed with this and I like the packaging. I think I’ll need to try a mascara next.

If you read my blog regularly, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of Laura Mercier. I’ve never been disappointed by Laura Mercier, everything I’ve used has always been really fantastic. When I discovered Laura Mercier was launching a new foundation, I was obviously quite excited and I’ve been testing it over the past few weeks so I can give you a comprehensive review.
In short I really, really like the Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide. Firstly, I love the shade range, the choice of shades is huge there’s a good chance you’ll find a match. The consistency is really thin and runny (think Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua) and it has to be given a good shake before using so the ingredients can mix together.
For reference I have combination skin, my t-zone is oily and gets shiny quite quickly but the rest of my face is dehydrated. This is settles to a matte finish but not a horrible dry, cakey matte look but natural almost leaning towards dewy. It makes me looks healthy and awake but not at all shiny or greasy. It lasts well over eight hours on me without oxidising or getting shiny, I didn’t this foundation most days and it still looked good at the end of the day.
The coverage is very buildable, you can get a sheer finish just by applying a small amount but it can be built up to medium coverage just by adding more layers but it doesn’t look heavy.
I recommend this foundation to all skin types because it’s matte enough for oily skin but it’s still hydrating and it looks very natural. I think you really need to get a counter and get matched because it’s fab.

Tigi Catwalk is one of my favourite hair brands. Everything I’ve tried from the brand has really impressed me and the products smell amazing. The brand has collaborated with designer, Mara Hoffman to produce a free hair accessory with any two Catwalk purchases from salons stocking Tigi.
I’ve been trying a couple of products from Catwalk and they’re became firm favourites already. First is the Blow Out Balm which is designed to smooth hair and add shine. I absolutely love it. First it smells amazing! I tend to avoid hair products that are described as a balm because they tend to feel quite heavy and thick in the hair and they usually make my hair greasy. However, this doesn’t, I’ve been applying two pumps to the mid-lengths when my hair is wet and using a paddle brush and my hairdryer to dry my hair. When I’ve used this my hair has dried a lot quite and it feels smoother and the frizz is gone. Also my hair feels really soft and it looks really shiny. I really like the product and I can’t recommend it enough.
Next is the Bodifying Spray which is designed volume and bounce to a blow dry. I used this one wet hair and dried my hair quite quickly, I didn’t use a brush or any technique. My hair was noticeable bigger looking but it wasn’t knotty or tangled. I definitely recommend this if you like big hair but you still want it to be manageable.
Have you tried either of these products?
Tigi Urban Anti-Dotes Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner is a duo I return to time and time again so I was excited to discover the range was expanding to include Treatment Masks*. I have the Level Two mask, Recovery because it’s the one most suited to my hair needs. My hair gets put through with heat styling, I straighten my hair almost everyday so it needs a lot of hydration to keep it in good condition.
The mask has the same blue colour as the shampoo and it smells the same. This mask is designed for hydration and the instructions say to apply it to the med-lengths and ends and leave for 3 to 5 minutes. I’ve been using this twice a week since I got and it definitely does hydrate intensely. I can always tell when my started to crave an injection of moisture because I can start to see the little white bits at the end of the hair strands (does anyone get that?). I’m always a little wary of intense masks because they can make my a little greasy or it just weigh my hair down but this doesn’t if anything it’s gave my hair a bit of life because it’s properly hydrated.
Overall, I’m really impressed with this mask and I would recommend it if you’re looking for a mask to hydrate. If hydration isn’t your problem there is two other masks in the range so there’s a good chance there’s mask for your hair needs.
It’s £14.50 and it’s due to launch soon.
Have you tried the Tigi Anti-Dotes range? Will you be picking up this mask?
I’m quite late to discover Laura Mercier’ Caviar Sticks for Eyes which is quite surprising considering I love the brand and I love eye crayons. I rarely use traditional eye shadow now because the stick version are so much easier and quicker to use and they’re fool proof. The Caviar Sticks are pretty much cream eyes shadow in a stick which is great for throwing in a makeup bag because they’re small and you can use them on the go.
The name Grey Pearl* doesn’t do the colour justice. Its a gorgeous taupey, grey colour with a golden brown undertone with a lovely shimmer running through it. I’ve been wearing this everyday since I got with lashings of mascara and it looks really pretty and effortless (it takes less than two minutes but it looks like you’ve put a lot of effort in!).
The formula of the Laura’s Caviar Sticks is fantastic. A quick swipe of the eyelid for a really quick but pretty eye look, the formula isn’t chalky or lacking pigment, the colour in the stick really translate on the lid. Unlike a lot of shadow sticks, this one does not move, fade or rub off all day. I’ve been wearing this for 10 hours and it looks as good as it did first thing in the morning.
Overall I really recommend you have a look at Laura Mercier’s take on shadow sticks because they’re among the best and I’ll definitely be adding more to my collection.

I wear nude/pink lip gloss on almost a daily basis and if I ever feel like splurging on a high end lip gloss, I always turn to Laura Mercier Lip Glosses because they’re not sticky or gloopy and they leave horrible white film after the colour has faded. Despite my love the lip glosses, I’ve tried a lip stick from Laura Mercier, probably because I don’t wear a lot of traditional lip sticks because I prefer really moisturising formulas and Chubby Stick style products.
The Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip range is one of the newer lip launches from Laura Mercier. The formula is made without wax so it feels very light on the lips. The range comes in four finishes – Matte, Sheer, Pearl and Crème and there is fifteen shades.
Firstly I love the packaging of these lip sticks, the tube is small and I love the colour and square packaging. Star is a sheer finish which is perfect for me because I’m not a fan of strong or matte lips. The Sheer finish is designed to give the lips a stain of colour. The website described as a “pale brick red”. I think this description is pretty good but I would say there is a slight pinky tone to it as well.
Star really lives up to it’s name of feeling weightless on the lips. It is a stain so I would advise making sure your lips are in good condition so I would exfoliate and moisturise my lips before wearing it because it does show any dry and cracks like all lip stains.
Star isn’t a colour I would pick up because I always go for nudes or pale pinks but I’m going to try and be brave and wear it outside of the house because I think I could get away with it because it’s not too bold and I think it will be really pretty for the summer.
