Classy Christmas Nails

classy christmas nails

For me, Christmas is the time to go OTT with glitter and festive nails polishes but I some prefer a more understated look so I might have a combination of classic and festive. I used Nails Inc. Porchester Square as a base, which is a perfect nude shade with Kensington Church Snowflake* layered over the top for a pop of Christmas.

Words cannot describe how much I love this nail polish. I absolutely love Nails Inc., I love the packaging and the designs and this year’s snowflake polishes are no disappointment. This is the pure white version and I love it! It looks absolutely amazing and I’ve received tons of compliments when I’ve been wearing it. I like this would make a fab Christmas gift, I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t love to receive this on Christmas day, it looks amazing and it’s from a fantastic nail brand.

Ciate Can Can

Ciate Can Can Haute House Autumn 2014

I think I’ve found my favourite nail polish of the season. I love the Ciate Haute House Collection but Can Can is by far my favourite. It’s a really gorgeous deep shimmery burgundy colour, it looks like it’s just a shimmery berry shade but it has a lovely purple hint to it. I absolutely this colour and I think I’ll be wearing it a lot because it looks amazing!

Ciate For The Frill Of It

If you’ll read my blog you know I bought the Ciate Haute House a few weeks ago and now I’m starting to wear the polishes from the collection. First up is For The Frill Of It which is a lovely shimmery copper colour. I think it looks really unusual, I don’t have a colour like this is in my collection.

Black Sparkly Heart Nail Art

black glitter heart nail art

The other day I wanted some sparkly nails but I also wanted a little big of nail art so I decided to combine the both and this is what I cam up with. I used Rimmel’s Black Cab nail polish as the base and I used Models Own’s Juicy Jules over the top for the glitter aspect. For the little hearts I used my trusty Barry M Nail Art Pen in White. If you want to try nail art I really recommend picking up the nail art pens because the Barry M ones are the best I’ve ever used, they make drawing super easy and precise/

Top 10 Under £10

Top 10 Under £10

There are so many products available under £10 in Boots and Superdrug so it can difficult deciding what products to buy. So, I thought I would give you a bit of help with some of my personal favourites.

In terms of base makeup, there isn’t many cheaper foundations I like because the foundations are always too dark for me or too cakey, however, Revlon Nearly Naked is really good, it’s perfect if you want light coverage and a natural finish and the shade range is great.

I don’t wear blusher everyday because I’m a little scared of it but when I do I tend to go for cream over powder and the Bourjois Cream Blushers are just lovely, they blend really easily and they look natural.

I think the drugstore is amazing for mascaras. The Bourjois One Seconde Mascara gives amazing volume and definition and it lasts all day without flaking or smudging. The Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara is a dual ended mascara, a wand for the upper lashes and a mini wand for the bottom lashes. I love this mascara because it gives amazing curl and volume and the two wands means it coats every lash.

My favourite drugstore liners are the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Liners, they last all day without smearing everywhere and I think they make a good dupe for the super expensive Nars liners.

For lips, I love the Maybelline Sensational Shine Glosses. If you’ve wanted to try the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors, get one of the Maybelline glosses because the formula and finish is incredibly similar. I also really like the Revlon Lacquer Balms, everyone talks about the matte versions but I look awful in a matte lip so I love the glossy finish.

For nail polishes, I don’t think you can go wrong with Models Own and Barry M. Models Own are always launching new shade ranges and finishes of nail polish. The original formulas are great and if you like scented polishes, check out Peach Melba and Coconut. I know the Hyper Gel range got really mixed reviews but I really like them and I have about six and I’ve had no problems with them. Barry M Gelly polishes are also amazing, these are my favourite shades, Blueberry, Prickly Pear and Grapefruit. I have loads of the Gelly finishes, I think they’re fantastic.

If you’re looking for a new top coat, I think the best drugstore top coat is the Sally Hansen Inst-Dri top coat. It dries super quick to a really glossy, shiny finish and it doesn’t chip almost instantly, like some fast drying top coats (Sech Vite, I’m taking about you!).

Next is Weird Science that looks like a lime green glitter.

Next is Marrakech Express, it looks like a shimmery orange/bronze with gold shards, almost like gold leaf mixed into it.

Next is my personal favourite, Dream Weaver. It looks like a really interesting blue/purple shimmer polishes that will almost change colour depending on the colour.

Nest is Magic Carpet. It looks like the perfect polish for the upcoming party season. It looks like a navy polish with multi-coloured glitter particles of different size running through it.

My favourite from the collection Magic Carpet and Dream Weaver and I think I’ll have to pick them up! What are you’re favourites?

Ciate Haute House

 ciate haute house

We all know I love my nail polishes, especially autumnal shades so when I seen Haute House from Ciate, I had to buy it! I posted some picture last week about it because I had ordered it but it hadn’t came but now it has so I thought I would show you.

First I love the little house, it looks so cute and I think it would make a fab gift for someone. I don’t know anyone who would be disappointed to receive this little set. There are five polishes in the house – Knee highs – royal blue, Sass pot – liquified lightning purple, Tickle my fancy – rich emerald, Can can – deep burgundy, For the frill of it- molten gold.

I absolutely love this and you can expect swatches over the season when I start wearing the polishes.

What do you think? Will you be buying it?
