This month I’ve discovered a few new products but I haven’t been using them enough for them to be favourites material but I have discovered some old classics and a couple new things.
Clinique Superdefefence Moisturiser
This is without a doubt my favourite moisturiser of all time, I love it. It’s hydrating but it’s not greasy or heavy and it has SPF 20.
Clinique Nail Polish in Concrete Jungle
I’m really bored of the winter shades and I’m embracing the nudes and neutral polishes, this is beautiful grey polish and the formula of Clinique polishes are incredible. The polishes are really shiny and I’ve wore this six days and I didn’t have one chip.
Burt’s Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm
I know it’s only a lip balm but I’ve been loving it this month. It’s saved my lips this month and it smells good.
Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Clay Mask
This has saved my skin this month. It really cleans out my pores and stops any breakouts from developing and any blemishes disappear a lot quicker after I’ve used this.
The Body Shop White Musk Libertine
I got this for Christmas and I’ve wore it pretty much everyday. It smells gorgeous, it’s feminine and sweet but it’s still fresh and not at all heavy.
Denman Grooming Brush (D81M)
I would love a Mason Pearson hairbrush but I can’t justify spending £30+ on a hairbrush but I discovered this in Boots and it’s amazing. It’s not great on wet hair but it smoothes hair and gets rid of static and it makes my hair super shiny. I love it.
I have to admit, I compulsively buy nail and cuticles products but I can safely say this is my favourite cuticle cream and I can’t count how many times I’ve repurchased it. I do like nail oils but a little bottle of oil isn’t the most practical product to carry around but this is prefect.
Firstly, it smells really good, obviously it smells of lemons but it’s really fresh and clean, not sickly like some of the perfumed nail products. Secondly, the tin is really practical for keeping in a makeup bag or handbag for using on the go. I don’t have naturally good cuticles, they tend to look a bit dry so I always have this in my bag to keep my cuticles nourished. I really notice a different in my cuticles and nails when I’m using this product and unlike a lot of similar products, it’s not greasy or sticky.
Overall, it’s one of the best cuticle products on the market and I can’t recommend it enough.
Its £5.99 for 15 grams of products and it’s a fantastic product. http://www.boots.com/en/Burts-Bees-Lemon-Cuticle-Cream-15g_52134/
Without any further ado, here is part four of my Christmas gift guide.
Steamcream isn’t just a Christmas product, it’s available all year but at Christmas the tins are customised with festive prints. Streamcream is a really good multi-purpose cream, it can be used on the face (better for a drier skin), body, feet and hands. It’s also a nice gift for both men and women. My favourite is the Silent night design.
Burt’s Bees Nature’s Necessities
I’m a huge fan of Burt’s Bees and I actually think all of the gift sets would be a lovely present to give and receive but I thought this was a nice stocking filler or just a little gift for someone. I have all of the products in this set and I can honestly say they are fantastic. it has two lip balms – Beeswax and Replenishing Pomegranate – both are really moisturising and hydrating and the pomegranate one smells amazing. It also has the cuticle balm which I think is the best cuticle balm on the market and I have whole post coming about it but it’s fantastic. Finally, it contains the Ultimate Hand Care which is a really moisturising and nourishing hand cream, it’s perfect for the cold weather. I really love this present and I’ll be giving to people as a Christmas present.
YSL Baby Doll Mascara Set
Baby Doll was one of the best beauty launches of the year, it gives proper volume and length without being clumpy. If you know someone that really likes beauty or really loves mascara like me, then I think this is an brilliant present. It also contains a mini bi-phase eye makeup remover, I’ve used this before and it is really good.
EOS Fruit Basket Lip Balm Gift Set
EOS lip balms aren’t readily available in the UK, I only know of Selfridges stocking them. If you know someone who loves lip balm, I think this is a perfect present. This set has four flavours of lip balm and the quality is really good and I like the quirky packaging.
Tinted lip balm is one of the easiest and prettiest beauty product, not only does it moisturise your lips but it gives a nice amount of colour and you can apply without a mirror.
The latest edition to my tinted lip balm collection is Hibiscus, it’s a lovely pinky peach which just looks like “your lips but better” but you can build it up to a proper peachy lip. All Burt’s Bees lip balms are very moisturising and comfortable to wear and the tube is tiny so it’s perfect for keeping in a make-up bag.
Tinted lip balms are priced at £5.99 and available from Boots http://www.boots.com/en/Burts-Bees-Hibiscus-Tinted-Lip-Balm-4-25g_1213784/
I love Burt’s Bees, the lip balm (or several) and cuticle cream are permanent residents in my handbag, I’ve tried lots of their face and body and I’ve never been disappointed.
This body butter smells really citrusy and zingy, I think this scent is perfect for the summer. The texture isn’t as thick as some body butters, which I like because sometimes they can be so thick that they never seem to absorb. It’s still very moisturising and hydrating on the skin despite the slightly thinner texture, it’s more liked a whipped texture. Overall, another great product from Burt’s Bees, it does everything it should and it’s smells great.
It’s £12.99 and you get a huge amount of product, available from Boots. http://www.boots.com/en/Burts-Bees-Mango-Orange-Body-Butter-185g_1233834/
