I used to have a Laura Mercier Sheer Crème Colour years ago and I really liked it but I lost it!
Golden Pink* is part of the 2014 Summer Collection. Like the name suggests the formula is sheer but I like that because it means it’s pretty fool proof and you don’t end up with too much colour. I would describe it as a cool toned pink with a golden shimmer. The shimmer means you could this as both a blusher and a highlighter. The shade reminds me of Benefit’s Sugarbomb but that’s a powder formula. I think this shade is perfect with pale skin because it looks like a very subtle, pretty flush of colour.
In terms of longevity I managed to get seven hours of wear before it started to fade. The formula is very easy to blend, it doesn’t set and become impossible to sheer out. It’s a true cream blusher, it doesn’t turn to a powder but it’s not a really wet formula like NYX cream blushes.
Have you tried this blusher? What do you think? Do you want to try it?
Despite being a huge Laura Mercier fan and a mascara junkie, I’ve never tried a Laura Mercier mascara. I don’t know why I’ve never tried one of their mascaras, I think I always get distracted with the amazing base products and hand creams when I go to a counter. When people talk about Laura Mercier they always focus on the tinted moisturisers, the Silk Crème Foundation and the Secret Camouflage concealer and the mascaras tend to be overlooked.
I’m always looking for the perfect mascara and I think I may have found a contender for the top spot in Laura Mercier’s Full Blown Volume Supreme Mascara*. This mascara claims to thicken, curl, lengthen and define lashes and I can safely say, it’s lives up to its claims. I have the straightest lashes so I have to curl them every day with my trusty Shu Uemura curlers and this mascara definitely helped to curl last all day without dropping. It’s not clumpy, it adds volume but each lash is still defined so you don’t end up with three huge lashes. I usually go for waterproof or tubing mascaras because I have a real problems with flaking and smudging, this is neither but it does not budge all day. I wore this for ten hours and it didn’t flake, smudge or run and it looked perfect, it looked just as good as it did when I applied it in the morning.
I love the shape of the wand. It’s a traditional brush not plastic which I prefer, I think they grip the lashes better than plastic wands. The wand is small enough to get into the inner corner and coat the lower lashes without ending up on my face.
This month two brand new Laura Mercier products are hitting the stores.
Without further ado, here is my fifth Christmas gift guide.
Diptyque Christmas Candles
Every year Diptyque release limited edition Christmas Candles and every year, they’re amazing. The packaging is changed and glass votive has special Christmas themed designs but most importantly, they smell of Christmas. There is Ecorce De Pin which smells like pine Christmas trees as the name would suggest and it’s beautiful. The second candle is Encens Des Indes which smells quite woody and spicy, I think this one is slightly stronger than Ecorce De Pin. The third option is Orange Chaya which smells like oranges and cinnamon.
Laura Mercier Lux Colour Wardrobe Duel Decker Colour for Eye and Cheeks
Laura Mercier has definitely won the prize for the best Christmas gift sets, you could get all your gifts from Laura Mercier. I’ve already mentioned a few of the sets before but I think this is just amazing and I don’t think anyone who likes beauty would be disappointed with this. It has almost everything you need, eight eyeshadows, three Tightline Eye Cakes, an eye pencil, a highlighter, two blushers and tools.
Nuxe Cocooning Must Haves
Nuxe is a really lovely brand, this set has the amazing lip balm, hand cream and body oil. I think this is a perfect for someone who prefers skincare to makeup or a gift for someone who you’re unsure about picking makeup for. I have these three products and I love them.
Kiehls Lip Balm Set
If you know someone who loves lip balm, I think this is a perfect gift. Kiehls lip balms are really good and this set has three full size lip balms for £19 which I think is good value for money (one lip balm is £12.50)
