I always feel people shun lip gloss because it’s sticky and not as long lasting as lipstick but I personally love lip gloss. I prefer a glossy lip to a matte lip, I don’t think I suit matte lips and I generally find those kind of textures of products to be drying and uncomfortable.
Urban Decay recently launched a collection of lip glosses as part of the Naked line. As the name would suggest all the shades are neutral, natural shades. I’ve bought two but today’s post is on Lovechild but I could have quite happily bought the whole line. The formula contains Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil and Hyaluronic Acids so they’re really moisturising and comfortable on the lips.
Lovechild is a really pretty cool toned milky pink, there’s no glitter or shimmer in this shade. I picked this one because I think it’s perfect for wearing everyday, it goes with everything and it’s not offensive and it’s easy to reapply without looking in the mirror.
A little note on the packing, I love the design of the packaging, I like the clear space at the bottom so you can see the shade.
The glosses are priced at £14.00
I’m not the biggest fan of powder, I always think it looks really noticeable on my skin and I think it make my foundation look cakey. I do use powder to set my concealer and maybe during the day to get rid of shine. My trusty product for making my foundation last all day is this setting spray. I first discovered this about three years ago when my skin was a little oilier than it is now and my makeup was just sliding off. I still keep a bottle of it but I don’t use it as often because I don’t need so much. I use it if I need my makeup to last day or all night. I think this is a complete saviour for anyone who has problems with makeup longevity, if I apply this at eight o’clock in the morning, my makeup will be perfect at ten at night. It doesn’t completely stop shininess but it helps a lot. I notice I only get a little shiny in my t-zone after around eight hours if I’ve used this, I think that’s pretty good so I only need use a blotting paper or maybe a little translucent powder. If you have a real problem with shine, I would try the De Slick version which is specifically for oiliness. I’ve tried and I really liked it. The mini size like this one is perfect for keeping in your handbag to spritz during the day to refresh makeup as well.
Have you tried this? What do you think?
All Nighter is one of my favourite products, it helps with the longevity of make-up without creating a matte finish and there’s no chance of looking powdery because they’re is no need to use primer. Urban Decay has launched a new setting spray, this it helps with make-up longevity but it also has added skincare benefits. It’s just like the original, in terms it helps make-up to last and it’s great for spritzing during the day to brighten up make-up. It calms to reduce the appearance of pores and redness and if you regularly it will have long-term skin benefits. I’ve been using this for a while and I don’t have a severe redness and pores are a little large but I have noticed my skin is much calmer and more hydrated. I think with continued use it will have some skincare advantages and even if it doesn’t I would continue using because it’s just as good as the All Nighter.
Recently there have been some interesting new products, here’s the ones making my shopping list.
Clinique Jumbo Vitamin C Lip Smoothie
Clinique have reinvented and improved the previous Lip Smoothies, I liked the old version so I want to see how the new ones compare.
Urban Decay Primer Potion Travel Size
I think Primer Potion is the best eye primer on the market and now it’s available in a travel size and it’s great if you just want to try it because it’s £7 cheaper.
Origins No Puffery Roll On
The mask version is fantastic for the summer when eyes are sore from pollen and hay fever, it’s one of my absolute favourite products all year round. Soon it will be available in the roll on which is brilliant because it means you can it around and use whenever and wherever you are to perk up tired eyes. On the Origins website you can sign up to be notified when it’s released.
Origins Ginzing Facial Moisturiser
The Ginzing eye cream is faultless and when I seen the formula had been adapted for a facial moisturiser, I had to get it. I’m currently using it and I think I think I’ve finally found a moisturiser I like (I’m annoyingly fussy when it comes to moisturisers). A full review to follow.
